Noh Theatre Performances
FREE, both at 4 p.m. in the Ruth Pearce Wilson Lab Theatre, corner of Mulberry and College streets. The first (or Friday) performance is by the certified instructors from Japan’s Kanze School of Noh who are teaching a weeklong (Jan. 27-Feb. 1) at Georgetown College. The Sunday (Feb. 1) recital performance will be by the workshop participants, plus special performances by the instructors at the end. (Noh is a traditional form of Japanese masked theatre that combines music, poetry, dance and narrative. It developed under the patronage of Japan’s elite warrior class in the Kyoto region beginning in the mid 14^th century.)
