"Black History Month, Celebrating Art and Culture"
Arts & Cultural Center/Welcome Center, 117 North Water St., Georgetown. The Scott County Arts Consortium would like to announce the opening reception of its Black History Month Exhibit: "Faces of Color: From Realism to Photography." "Faces of Color" will run from February 12- March 19. The opening reception will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 6 p.m.-8p.m. The show includes collage, wood carvings, photography as well as the traditional genres of drawing and painting. The night will also include a performance by jazz musicians (Jazz duo Jeff Schmidt on saxaphone and Harold Thurman on piano) and light refreshment. Bring a friend and check out our new finds in the gift gallery or bring a Valentine's Date and enjoy a free night of entertainment! Come help us celebrate Black History Month. The show will be featuring local Georgetown photographer, William McIntyre's work as well as Lexington Artist Sonja Brooks. We will also be showcasing emerging New York Artist, Jerome Neal, Sr. You don't want to miss out! Keep an eye out for our TBA closing reception date in March! See you there!
