Event of olympic proportions
Each year, the National Horse Show welcomes Olympians and World Champions from across the globe, as well as the nation’s top junior riders. This year, the show hosts one of only seven Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping qualifiers on the East Coast and the prestigious ASPCA Maclay Finals.

The highlight of the 2017 CP National Horse Show takes place Saturday, Nov. 4, kicking off with the running of the National Horse Show 5k, which benefits the UK Markey Cancer Foundation, followed by the CP National Horse Show’s Breeders’ Cup Viewing Party, a Country Boy Brewing Beer Garden and special Man O’ War celebration. The premier event, the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping competition, begins at 6:30 p.m. and features Olympic level competition from athletes that represent countries all over the world.

With $810,000 in prize money offered, this year’s show has been designated a CSI-3*-W show by the FEI. International Open Jumpers will compete for almost a half a million dollars in prize money. For the sixth year in a row, The National Show Hunter Hall of Fame has named the CP National Horse Show the “Horse Show of the Year.” In 2017, the top-rated hunter sections have a total purse of $195,000.

World-class entertainment
Following the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Lexington, The Original Wailers, presented by Wrenwood Farms, will take center stage. Known the world over for their Grammy-nominated reggae sound and led by guitarist Al Anderson, they are the perfect finale to an action-packed Saturday night in the Alltech Arena.

Anderson was chosen by Bob Marley in 1974 as his lead guitarist and is known for his work on such classics as “No Woman,” “No Cry,” “Dem Belly Full” and “Curfew (Three O’clock Road Block).” He has also played with Peter Tosh, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, Steel Pulse, Aswad, Inner Circle, Traffic and Ben Harper. Fronted by Al Anderson, The Original Wailers carry forward the true spirit of the original music and the message of “One Love.”
